3 Easy Methods for Cleaning a Microwave Oven

When you’re always on the go, keeping your home spick and span is crucial, including your kitchen appliances – and especially the microwave oven. It’s not only a lifesaver for reheating our grub but also a hotbed for germs and bacteria if left unattended. So, let’s tackle cleaning a microwave and get it looking brand new in no time with these three simple methods.

Cleaning a Microwave Oven the Easy Way

Ready to spend less time cleaning a microwave and more time enjoying it? These methods will do the trick.

Method 1: Cleaning Microwave With Lemon

This is my go-to method, and the lemon scent is an added perk. All you need is a lemon and a bowl of H2O. Cut the lemon in half and squeeze the juice into the water. Put the lemon halves in the bowl and zap them in the microwave on high for about 5 minutes. The steam from the lemon and water will help to loosen the grime, making it a breeze to wipe down.

Method 2: Using Vinegar To Clean Microwave

Vinegar is a staple in every kitchen and it’s no exception when it comes to cleaning the microwave oven. Fill a bowl with equal parts water and white vinegar and microwave on high for 5 minutes. The steam will help dissolve the grease and grime, making it easier to wipe away.

Once done, take the bowl out and give the interior a good wipe with a sponge or cloth. This method is perfect for getting rid of stubborn food odors that just won’t budge.

Method 3: Cleaning Microwave with Baking Soda

Baking soda is another all-around cleaner that works wonders on the microwave oven. Simply mix a few tablespoons of baking soda with water to create a paste, and spread it inside the oven. Let it sit for about 15 minutes and then wipe it clean with a sponge or cloth.

Baking soda is gentle, safe on all surfaces, and effective in removing stubborn food stains and odors. If the other methods left a bit of grime this is a great way to get rid of any excess and finish the cleaning
