Satna Fe is a beautiful city year-round, but it becomes especially picturesque during the fall. Vibrant yellow, red, and orange hues paint a hauntingly beautiful portrait of this high desert city. Living here during the Autumn months is a privilege, but not just because of the area’s natural beauty. There’s always so much to do in and around the city, and the fall events Santa Fe offers this year look like a lot of fun
Fall Events Santa Fe 2021
You can’t talk about Santa Fe events in October without including Halloween activities! Whether you’re looking for some wholesome family fun at a pumpkin patch, or you’d rather be chased by ravenous zombies through a nerf-style obstacle course, we’ve got the scoop on the best fall events Santa Fe.
Spirits of New Mexico’s Past Festival
Where: El Rancho De Las Golondrinas
When: Saturday, October 23, 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Come to celebrate the rich cultural history of the Santa Fe region through candle-lit historical vignettes. Enjoy a cup of fresh, locally-produced hot apple cider and warm up next to the luminarias while learning about local legends from the spirits themselves. Local historical figures will grace the audience with their ghostly presence and pass their tales on for the next generation.
Performances will be featured between vignettes, and there will be a special telling of the tragic tale of La Llorona, The Weeping Woman. Kids will be able to make their own spooky tin medallions, and face painting will be available throughout the evening. Don’t miss out one of the most fascinating fall events Santa Fe.
The Pumpkin Patch
Where: Santa Ana Star Center, Rio Rancho
When: October 1 – October 31 from 9:00 am – 6:00 pm
Just under an hour outside of Santa Fe, The Pumpkin Patch has everything that you and your kids could possibly want for a pre-Halloween good time. Hundreds of pumpkins and gourds of all shapes, sizes, and colors are available for purchase, as well as fall decor items like corn stalks, hay bales, and corn bundles. This is certainly going to be one of the best Santa Fe events in October.
37th Annual Taos Mountain Balloon Rally
Where: Launch Field on Albright Steet, Behind Taos County Court House
When: Saturday and Sunday, October 29th – 31st, begins at 7:45 am
Not all of the fun fall events Santa Fe are centered around Halloween though. For a spectacle unlike any you’ve seen before, consider visiting this year’s Taos Mountain Balloon Rally. Every year on the last weekend of October, the skies around this scenic village fill with multi-colored hot air balloons for a rally around the high country. Pilots and enthusiasts from around the country come each year to help put on this event, and it’s staffed and paid for by volunteers and local sponsors.
This is a wonderful activity for the whole family. Kids will have the opportunity to speak to the pilots and get up-close and personal with the balloons before takeoff. This is the 37th annual Taos Mountain Balloon Rally, so make sure to check out this spectacular community event.
From all of us here at Ortega’s Appliance Service, we hope you have a great time at the amazing fall events Santa Fe!
